i-doIT is a CMDB (configuration management database) based on ITIL guidelines. It documents IT systems and their changes, defines emergency plans, displays vital information, and helps to ensure a stable and effcient operation of IT networks. i-doiT allows a rich amount of technical information to be filed for each element from a wall outlet to a mainframe in a structured way. Every employee can access this information easily (and in a selective way) through a Web browser. Due to its modular architecture, it is possible to deploy functionality add-ons or even develop extensions.
Changes: i-doit contacts were technically reorganized to be configuration items. Various storage improvements were made. The san-zone object type was added. New categories were added for local and remote storage. Language selection at login was added. A bookmark link to the current page was added above standard lists. A QR barcode for was added each object. Mandator/client administration was implemented, and is reachable via /admin. Various bugs were fixed.

Some weeks ago, after reading the Droid X reviews on Ars Technica (here and here), I got myself one. Sure enough, I loved it, and like any good, patriotic smartphone consumer, I started downloading lots of Android apps. How did I find them? I clicked on the Market Store, of course, and typed in a search word.
I’ve written software on Linux, compiled kernels, set up servers, and a whole host of other pretty technical feats. Having been a die-hard Linux user for 10 years, I thought I had handled just about every situation a desktop user is likely to encounter. That is, until I installed Linux for a friend, who then said to me “Ok, so how do I add new fonts?”. Such a simple thing, yet I had absolutely no idea how to answer. It just never came up. To help restore my credibility, I did some research to find an easy way for a Linux newcomer to manage fonts, and came across FontMatrix. It’s a simple and powerful way to add, remove and configure your system fonts.
‘Attention to detail’ or ‘enhanced UI experience’ are not the kind of terminologies normally used in the Linux world. At least, that is how it used to be. It’s all changing now. KDE 4.0 is a typical example. Developers completely revamped KDE from scratch and gave it a uniform user friendly appearance. Canonical’s flagship Ubuntu is the next candidate. A lot of changes already happening and a ton of innovations are in the pipeline.

Property Binder is a Java library that provides typed access to entries in properties files. It offers such access by allowing a programmer to provide it a Java interface whose methods represent the keys of the properties file. The methods can be annotated to indicate what property the method represents, what default value(s) it should assume if the property is not present, and what pattern separates the individual values of multi-valued properties.
Changes: The @ParsedAs annotation was added for Date-returning PICA methods. PICA methods that accept one or more arguments expect their property values to be string format specifiers as in String.format(). Arguments are substituted into the format specifier in order prior to the result’s conversion to the PICA method’s return type. The constructor of PropertyBinder that the static factory method calls is published, so as to afford those who would use Property Binder a seam for testing purposes. A zero-arg ctor was adding to SubstitutableProperties. A subtle change was made in SubstitutableProperties(Properties): the properties handed to the ctor become the "defaults" rather than hard-and-fast values. The PropertyBinder.bind(Properties) method was published. The PropertyBinder.bind(Map<String, String>) method was added. SubstitutableProperties.substitute() is now an instance method. The internals of Property Binder deal in SubstitutableProperties throughout now. The dependency on commons-io was removed. Internal repackaging and refactoring were done.
